How Much Does a Website Cost in Vancouver?

The useful question is what the quote includes. A focused business site, a considered redesign and a custom platform are different projects — even when they have the same number of pages.

Start with a scope, then a number

There is no single Vancouver website price. As one published example checked on October 2, 2026, Whitespace Studio lists CAD $1,500–$3,000 for its business website planning range and CAD $3,000–$6,000+ for websites with integrations. These are that provider’s advertised ranges, not a market average or Menerai pricing. Custom work is quoted separately.

A number is useful only when you know the work behind it. Does the price cover a visual direction, written content, custom development, a content editor, migration and launch checks? Or is it a template populated with text you supply? Either can meet a need, but they should not be compared as the same product.

At Menerai, the quote follows the agreed scope. We do not publish a fixed price that assumes every business needs the same website. Our Vancouver web design service starts with the business, the audience and what the site needs to help them do.

What changes the amount of work?

Scope questions to resolve before comparing quotes
DecisionWhat to clarify
ContentWho researches, writes and approves the page copy?
DesignAre you adapting an existing brand or developing a new visual direction?
DevelopmentAre the layouts and interactions standard or purpose-built?
EditingWhich pages must your team update without a developer?
FunctionalityDo you need forms, booking, CRM connections or user accounts?
MigrationWhich content, URLs and integrations must carry over?

Page count is a rough measure. Ten pages using one straightforward layout may require less engineering than three pages with unusual interactions and a custom booking flow. Content can change the scope just as much: rewriting an unclear offer takes different work from editing approved copy.

Compare the deliverables, not the headline fee

Ask each provider to describe what is included in discovery, design, development and launch. Then look for what has been left for you to organise. Photography, copy approval, access to the domain and decisions about third-party tools need owners.

  • Request an explicit page list and a list of reusable layouts.
  • Clarify review rounds and what happens when the scope changes.
  • Ask how forms, mobile layouts and essential keyboard interactions are tested.
  • Confirm what ‘SEO included’ means in actual deliverables.
  • Ask who owns the domain, hosting account, content and code or platform access.

Look at completed work as well as the proposal. Our BlvdBuild project shows the scope of a business website design and development engagement, from positioning and content structure to the finished build.

Separate the build from running the site

A build quote and an operating budget answer different questions. Hosting, domain renewal, paid tools, maintenance and content changes can continue after launch. Ask which costs are paid directly to a platform, which are paid to the website provider and which are optional.

A subscription is not automatically a problem. An unexplained subscription is. Understand the renewal cost, what support includes and what happens if you move the site or change providers. That conversation should happen before the build, while you can still choose the arrangement.

A useful brief can be short

Share what the business does, who the website is for, what is missing from the current site and the action a visitor should take. Add any real deadline and the integrations you already use. A list of sites you like can help communicate the level of design you expect.

If you are replacing a site, read our Vancouver redesign cost guide before treating the job as a new build. If you are ready to discuss the work, send us a short message. You do not need to choose a package first.
